Description

Research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and directed by Pedro Javier Pardo (University of Salamanca).

Objective

Its object of study is a series of narrative recreations of Don Quixote in different national literatures and its objective is to improve both its accessibility and its knowledge.

The challenge

It is a collection that allows to follow the first adaptations of Don Quixote in different countries. Adaptations published several centuries ago and that should be approached to readers of the XXI century by digital means.

Solution

We chose to use the free software platform OMP. The design of the collection was adapted to screens and several functionalities were programmed, not present in OMP, such as:

  • Geopositioned location of the work.
  • Chronologies.
  • Original and translated version.
  • Editorial notes and author’s comments.

The production of the works followed a completely digital process, using XMLBITSto obtain the rest of the formats (HTML, PDF and ePUB) from the XML master files.

Resultado

Colección ganadora en los XXVI Premios Nacionales de Edición Universitaria en la categoría Mejor edición digital y multimedia.
