The Spanish Society of Criminological Research (SEIC) has among its objectives the promotion of criminology studies, and for this purpose, it uses the Spanish Journal of Criminological Research as its main dissemination channel to publish work developed in this field both in Spain and Latin America.
The editors required a new publishing platform with a more modern and attractive design, without losing the journal’s identity or, of course, any of the previously published work.
The challenge
In addition to creating a customized design, new functionalities had to be incorporated, such as the home page view of the Current Issue and the Special Issue simultaneously. The historical contents were also revalued at through the categorization of the articles published throughout its history.
Solution
A new personalized design was made in the OJS platform maintaining its identity and reflecting its content. Likewise, all the required new functionalities were implemented in. In addition, a migration of was carried out for all the historical contents of the journal and training was provided to the Editorial Team in this free software platform.
